Paragliding is the closest
to being a bird that you can reach without resorting to reincarnation!
You are surrounded on all sides by open sky while enjoying the view
from your comfortable, seated position. There is no engine noise, only
the wind. You use what nature provides to stay aloft for hours.
Paragliding is the most
accessible form of sport aviation. It's initially so simple that most
students get their feet off the ground on their first day. And, the fast
learning curve continues from there. Paragliding is a truly incredible
sport!
Accessible and challenging!
Getting started is easy, and yet there is also always more to learn
and experience. Some pilots enjoy simple "sled rides" from the
top of the hill to the bottom, some enjoy soaring in smooth ridge lift,
others enjoy towing aloft, and still others enjoy gaining thousands of
feet of altitude and traversing long distances. The current world record
is 263 miles, and that record was set right here in Texas! And, when it's
time for a vacation, a paraglider folds up into a backpack that checks
as luggage on an airplane. |
